S-Lon Thread is an extra heavy #18 twisted nylon multifilament cord that's been primarily used for stringing beads, bead crocheting and micro-macramé‚ jewelry applications. (Comparable to Conso & Mastex Cords). But we've discovered that it will work perfectly for hand sewing and get ready for this... machine sewing! It's about the same weight as our #207 machine thread (just a tish heavier), so it will work for all sorts of machine sewn projects! It even comes on its own little bobbin! Plus, it's available in over 90 vibrant colors!!! The .5 oz. spool size (approx. 77 yards) makes adding a variety of colors to your projects extremely affordable and a lot easier store than the bulky .5 lb. & 1 lb. spools! *Note: This thread is not pre-lubricated and the spools are not wound the same way as our machine thread spools, so you may have to experiment a little when setting the spool up for machine sewing.
